DIY Projects I ♥ No.4

Here are some great diy projects for July. Hope you are all having a good weekend.

This is so cool and useful and my favourity colour is green!

Absolutely beautiful and a great way of recycling. In the UK there aren't many old shutters around but this is definitely something I can use in our flat in Croatia.

These pots are crazy! I don't think that I would be as brave with my material choice but I love the idea!

Another great idea for people who like traveling!

This is cool! I know that everything at the moment is being painted in chalk paint but this saves you walking around the room and looking for your glass.

Day out on a canal boat

Last weekend we spend a day on a canal boat which was great. I have never done this before but I absolutely loved it. It is a great day out with friends and views are amazing. All you need is good company and good food/drinks. I used to go on sailing trips while living in Croatia but this is completely different and I loved the fact that some many people live on boats in beautiful locations.

If you get a chance definitely try it out.

June Projects

Wow it is already July and as promised I am sharing things that I have made/cooked/baked in June. I admit that I didn't get round to doing as many diy projects as I would have liked.

I have definitely used little glass jars in almost every room. I didn't use lace or paint but have found good use for all sorts of things.

I love organising so I have finally used this idea to tidy up draws in the study. For more photos see this post.

Delicious coffee cake! A friend from work gave me the recipe so I don't know where it originally came from. Really easy to make and delicious, if you like coffee you will like this cake.

225g sugar
275g self-raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 large eggs
2 tbsp  milk
2 tbsp chicory and coffee essence (or strong coffee)
75g chopped walnuts

Icing:
75g butter
225g sifted icing sugar
2tsp milk
2 tbsp chicory and coffee essence (or strong coffee)
walnut halves, broken roughly (I didn't have this)

This quiche was delicious and really easy to make, you can find recipe here.

I ♥ Organising

I love to organise draws, cupboards etc. I really think that one day I will open my own business and be a professional organiser. I do realise that I am a bit OCD but really can't help myself.

I have organised my little draws in the study recently. People at work probably think I'm weird because I have been collecting toilet paper cardboard for the past couple of weeks to use it to organise cables that are somehow multiplying on a regular basis. I got the original idea at I Heart Organizing, this website is amazing!
