Busy, busy, busy...(but loving it)

Since my bday I've tried to eat healthy, like maybe a bit too much. I now make everything from scratch, spend hours in the kitchen cooking (and washing up) and I feel great. I would much rather spend time in the kitchen with some good music then sitting on my sofa watching tv for hours (btw I still do that as well but not as much as I used to).

For my bday I bought  (for myself) Kris Carr's Self-Care for Busy People Meditation which I love! Kris has the most calming voice and for $15 this is just a little treat that I use every day. You can test Peep Talk Meditation for free (I think you will love it).

I have also become obsessed with preparing my breakfast on Sunday for the whole week! This saves me a lot of time and ensures that I have breakfast everyday (it also saves me a lot of money) and most importantly it's healthy.
I found the recipe on the PopSugar app (which is great).

Today we spend our afternoon on the beautiful grounds of Babylonstoren in Franschoek. There are two restaurants, spa, hotel, gardens, it is absolutely beautiful. The gift shop also has a selection of wines, cheese, meats, books and beautiful candles and soaps.

All visitors pay 10Rand (40p) as entrance ticket and money goes to education trust for local children.

Here are some snaps. X

Simple dinner party idea

I love Ikea! I love the style, practical design, simplicity and their prices!

Meeting friends can be so difficult with everyone being so busy and skint so making the whole process of meeting up and having fun easier is my aim for 2016!

There is a new page on Ikea's website with all sorts of design ideas. My favourite is the idea where guests each brings a dish and friends come together for a delicious, "cheap" dinner party (on a Sunday but this could be any other day really).

I love to host dinner parties but they can sometimes be difficult to organise, friends then feel like they need to "return the favour" so keeping it simple and also fun by trying different dishes sounds like a great idea!

Naked cake...

We have decided that since we are not having a "proper" wedding and are just having celebratory dinner for friends and family we would make our own cake. We love the idea of "naked cakes" and have been inspired with lots of pinterest images here is what we've practiced so far.

This is what we were going for...

 This is what we made...

Of course we will have three tier cake but there is only so much we can eat...
